Robert McComb will be walking 500 miles in memory of his dad, Nicol, who died in 1997 after his cancer returned 'with a fierce vengeance', devastating his loved-ones.
A 62-year-old man, who is a huge fan of The Proclaimers, is set to walk 500 miles in memory of his dad who died following a devastating cancer battle, in 1997.
Nicol was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 1978 and was undergoing treatment for his condition, with his health improving. "He had lost weight and was in bed all the time. It was quite a heartbreaking time because we thought we were going to lose him.Paying tribute, Robert added: "My dad was a worker all his life and he instilled that work ethic into his kids. He was an incredible person and always put family first.
The Proclaimers fan always finishes his night off with the Scottish rock duo's biggest hits - I'm Gonna Be or I'm on My Way. And, those two tracks will be played on repeat during his charity walk for Beatson.
