The national conversation is shifting.
These demonstrations are a chance to mourn and honor the Black lives lost, just as they are a chance to proclaim that all Black lives matter. But they have also had very real impacts on both our national political discourse and on specific local policy in several major cities, perhaps especially Minneapolis itself.
While no movement should be judged solely by its political achievements, it’s worth knowing what they’ve accomplished to celebrate that progress and allow it to inform strategy moving forward. With that in mind, here are some highlights from the past two weeks of the movement for Black lives.
