It’s on the players to know the rules, yes. The ones suspended surely wish they had inspected the policy more closely. Most teams have an official betting sponsor. Fifteen states with NFL teams also have fully legal online sports gambling. Hell, I live five miles from the Saints’ home, the Caesars Superdome, named for a casino company. It’s a little ridiculous to expect players to not dabble in bets on other sports, whether they’re at the team facility or not.
