Myths about periods, reproductive health and vaginas persist ⬇️ Experts debunks four of them

Almost one in four of the 2,000 women surveyed said they’ve learned more about women’s health from social media than they did at school, yet 72 per cent admitted never double-checking the health information they get on social media.as part of its annual Get Lippy campaign, found that just 5 per cent of people had a good understanding of gynaecological cancers and only 7 per cent had a good understanding of gynaecological symptoms.
It’s hardly surprising then that so many myths about periods, reproductive health and vaginas still persist – many of them borne out of shame, misinformation andDr Claudia Pastides, general practicitioner and director of medical accuracy at the gynaecological health app FloFlo’s research found that one in three women believeand premenstrual syndrome are symptoms they simply have to “put up with”, while one in 10 believe it’s normal to soak through a pad or a tampon every hour.
