Dracula is out of his coffin and hopping on Kickstarter, courtesy of noted comic creators' Matt Wagner and Kelley Jones' new series, The Impaler.
The secret history of Dracula is set to receive a new chapter, as lauded comic book creators Matt Wagner and Kelley Jones launch a Kickstarter to fund their latest project – The Impaler, the first in a series of 112-page graphic novels from the duo, launched through their new company, Orlock Press.

Wagner and Jones are joined on the project by José Villarrubia, who brings a Giallo-inspired aesthetic to the project, and letterer Rob Leigh who promises "Dracula as never before experienced." The creative team boasts a wide array of comic book credentials, making this a Kickstarter fans can be confident in funding.
Readers may recognize Matt Wagner's name from his work on Neil Gaiman's Sandman, the Eisner Award-winning Grendel series, and DC projects like Batman and the Mad Monk. Meanwhile, Jones, having also worked on Sandman and Batman, is notable for the Eisner-nominated Deadman: Love after Death, Aliens: Hive, and appropriately enough, Batman & Dracula: Red Rain.
The Impaler Tells The Story "Hidden In The Shadows" Of Bram Stoker's Dracula With Dracula - Book 1: The Impaler, Wagner and Jones wish to tell entirely new stories surrounding Dracula, a character with over a century of history on the page and screen. As Wagner explained to potential supporters, the creative team's efforts on this project are done through "a true labor of love ... we’re both enormous Dracula fans, and I think it really shows.
