With summer somewhat lacking in Glasgow, we are putting this out there in the hope that it might tempt that big fiery ball in the sky to make an appearance.
It's summer, and yes, while the weather hasn't cracked up to be what we hoped, we are manifesting the return of the higher temperatures.
Henry's Opening on Abbot Street in Shawlands in one of the empty units behind Cafe Strange Brew opposite the entrance to the Co-op, Henry's is a wee belter of a spot. This is a belter of a spot made even better by the cracking amount of recent additions to the food offering - with newcomer Shawarma Boy a particular highlight.
The terracing sits on split levels and is surprisingly sheltered from the noise of the motorway traffic going through Charing Cross. It’s a little haven of tranquillity on the fringes of the city centre. The words ‘peaceful’ and ‘tranquil’ have been used to describe the setting although you can also take added satisfaction laughing at the joggers as they sweat their way towards Kelvingrove Park as you have another pint delivered. It's also great for dogspotting.The place offers a stunning vistas of the Clyde, the Finnieston Crane and the SEC Campus, and when the sun shines on the outdoor terrace, it really is one of the best spots in Glasgow.
