The general election is less than four weeks away
From open top buses on the M1 through to water slides, it's pretty safe to say this rather whacky general election campaign trail is underway. In less than four weeks' time, we will the United Kingdom will go to the polls.
A number of traditional "red wall" seats in Nottinghamshire were won by the Conservative party including Bassetlaw and Ashfield. Brendan Clarke-Smith and Lee Anderson, who has gone on to defect to Reform UK, won those elections respectively.People across the country may well see some political heavyweights in their towns and villages as each of the political parties seek votes on the campaign trail.
Many polls are predicting a Labour victory at the next general election, with the Conservatives having been in power in some form since 2010. Their first period in office was in a coalition with the Liberal Democrats, followed by a brief period when they ruled with a strong majority. A lot has changed since 2019, though and we want to take a temperature check in a number of key areas - from health to education. The State of Nottingham survey is a chance to have your say on our city.
