San Antonio can’t overcome 35 points from Paul George in losing its second straight

The third-year guard came off the bench and needed only 25 minutes to register a career-best 29 points. Having reached his 25-minute limit early in the fourth quarter, Vassell hit the bench early as the Clippers finished off the game. Keldon Johnson returned from a one-game absence with a sore calf to contribute 16 points, the lowest-scoring outing of what has been a breakout season for him.
It took until the 6:41 mark of the fourth quarter for L.A. to grab its first lead in the second half, on - of course - a well-contested George 3-pointer. He had 17 points in the first half, reached his career-high mark with 1:18 left in the third, then played only 3:08 of the fourth quarter after missing his allotted minutes limit of 25.
