Prosecutors had evidence of wrongdoing, so they filed charges and took the issues to court.
By all appearances, federal and state prosecutors are now weighing the possibility of cases against a former U.S. president — which, to hear McCarthy tell it, is necessarily evidence of political wrongdoing on the part of law enforcement.
