Remember applying for a job you felt was perfect for you and you were perfect for? Remember how you had great conversations with them, brainstorming creative strategies for the work? You were sure the offer letter was coming. Then, you get the email that they decided you weren't t the right “fit.”
s, we need all the creative ideas we can get for our organizations and our careers – and yes, our country and the global economy — to succeed and grow in this “new normal.”a recent PwC surveyAnd creative, talented, innovative you are sitting there, applying to them, sometimes being interviewed by them, but being told over and over and over again that you’re not the right “fit.”Biden could have chosen someone according to the traditional VP model of being understated and not rocking the boat.
But he didn’t. He chose the person who openly and publicly, provocatively disagreed with him to his face in front of millions of people on the debate stage. He chose the person who doesn’t look like, feel like, sound like, or act like any of the other options or like the normal model of who would be a good “fit.” He chose the person who has demonstrated again and again that she will, can and intends to most definitely rock the boat to find what she sees as the best solution.

So, as we focus on moving forward and driving growth in a yet-to-be-defined-or-created “new normal,” recruiters and hiring managers – and top executives who create the policies and organizational culture — would be wise to take notice of Biden’s courage and strategies .
