Victim of River Oaks-area shooting may have been BTB Savage, rapper bragged about killing robber hours before shooting
On March 26, Vlad TVwhere he described multiple men coming to his apartment late at night on the pretext of recording a feature on a song, only for one of the men to take out a gun and attempt to rob the rapper. BTB Savage described struggling with the man and calling for his girlfriend, who then shot the robber twice in the back. BTB Savage and the man continued to wrestle on the ground, and at one point, BTB Savage was accidentally shot in the elbow by his girlfriend, he told the interviewer.
BTB Savage described the man pleading with him to take him to the hospital as the rapper escaped the apartment with his girlfriend and son. In the hospital, he was told that the man had died and the police considered the shooting to be self-defense, BTB Savage said.At the end of the interview, the rapper brushed off concerns that someone might retaliate.
"For sure, they might do what they do, but I'm gonna get active, that's all it is and it is what it is," BTB Savage said.
