Michael Mosley says 'almost everyone' in the UK should be taking a specific supplement
Michael Mosley is a former doctor, author and presenter known for covering all things diet and fitness in his books and programmes.
One Mumsnet user asked: "A quick question from me: Is there a need to take supplements, or is it possible to get all necessary vitamins and minerals from one's diet, and still keep a healthy weight? Why nearly everyone should take vitamin D In his response, Michael first noted the importance of vitamin D for people who live in the UK.
From the end of March and early April to the start of September, the NHS says most people should be able to make enough vitamin D from the sun. "But since it's difficult for people to get enough vitamin D from food alone, everyone should consider taking a daily supplement containing 10 micrograms of vitamin D during the autumn and winter."
