'The Witcher' Season 2 is in production now for Netflix, with new cast members joining to play familiar characters from fantasy series who weren't introduced in the first season.
Season 2. Originally shared by Graham McTavish and since taken down, the audition video shows the Scottish actor reading for a character using the code name"David." While the context provided in the audition script already point to Dijkstra, Redanian Intelligence leaves no room for doubt, claiming that David"is, without question, our Redanian Spymaster."
The scripted scene which McTavish reads was likely created for an audition, rather than taken from a Season 2 episode, but it nonetheless gives a sense of Dijkstra's character. In the scene, Dijkstra speaks with King Vizimir of Redania, another character who has yet to appear in the Netflix series. In the scene, Vizimir laments having to work with the shady spy, as they discuss an escaped prisoner and the possibility of another war starting.
Vizimir and Dijkstra both hail from Redania, a large kingdom on the Continent—the name for the landmass whereis set. Since the first season dealt primarily with the conflict between Cintra and the Nilfgaardian Empire, Redania hardly figured into the first season of the Netflix fantasy series. It seems that will change in Season 2.
Geralt of Rivia and Ciri find each other in the final episode of 'The Witcher's first season,"Much More."Dijkstra is head of Redanian Intelligence, who played elaborate spy games against Nilfgaardian Military Intelligence throughout the Northern War seen in's first season. Dijkstra worked ruthlessly to purge spies from Redania and would later hire both Jaskier and Yennefer.
