Close to 3,000 athletes, young and old, have descended on China this year and CNN has taken a look at some of the youngest and oldest registered competitors taking part at Beijing 2022. All information was confirmed by the International Olympic Committee and was correct at time of publishing. Anezka Indrackova -- July 30, 2006At just 15 years and six months, Anezka Indrackova will be the youngest athlete competing in Beijing.
"I was not too fast, but I smiled because today I got my goal to race in my eighth Olympic Games. This was important for me," said Pechstein."Yesterday I carried the flag.
