, a therapeutic riding center in York County for children with disabilities, plans to build a similar center in Franklin County.Phase one will include a therapy center and administrative offices. Phase two will include an indoor riding arena and horse barn. Phase three will be based upon need and future funding.Officials from Leg Up Farm said that several years ago community leaders in Franklin County approached Leg Up Farm’s leadership team about replicating its pediatric therapy center.
“I am excited to share that the efforts of Franklin County’s leaders have culminated in raising $2,502,671 through in-kind, grant, corporate and private donations. This brings us over 40% towards our total goal of $5,825,588, which would cover site work and therapy center construction,” Mike Ross, president of the Franklin County Area Development Corporation and the capital campaign co-chair of Leg Up Farm–Franklin County, said in a news release.
