Activists from This is Rigged set up a stall of stolen baby formula on Sunday and are handing out the goods to passers-by on Buchanan Street in Glasgow, as they demand that supermarkets slash their prices.
A group from This is Rigged set up a stall of stolen baby formula and goods in the city centre of Glasgow on Sunday.
It comes after the group demanded that supermarkets slash their prices of essential goods, particularly baby products like formula. In images shared with Glasgow Live, the group of four can be seen at a stall wearing This is Rigged clothing as they handed out goods to members of the public in which they supposedly stole from local supermarkets.
On March 3, activists from the same group targeted a royal statue in Kelvingrove Art Museum, closing the gallery for at least a few hours to allow for clean-up. Two individuals spray-painted offensive language across the bust of Queen Victoria, as well as smothering the statue in jam and porridge. One of the activists from today's action is a 25-year-old intensive care nurse in Glasgow, speaking of today's move she said: "I'm taking action today because I strongly believe food is a human right, and as the climate crisis worsens, so will food insecurity.
