From the time she was young, Lena Pringle knew she wanted to do journalism.
She loved watching the news and seeing stories told — she would even pay attention to see what the anchors were wearing.“I remember very much wanting to get into this career,” Pringle told IndyStar. “But also when I was younger, it wasn't something that was as practical because I stuttered."
“I enjoy having people be able to tell their stories,"she said,"And because also, I know what it's like to go for a good portion of your life without a voice or without being heard.” But she knew what she was looking for in her next job, when and if she decided to return to journalism — a supportive workplace that would allow her to keep anchoring and telling stories but also achieve other goals.
Pringle is passionate about uplifting diverse perspectives and telling"stories that you’re not going to find in a press release.” "I'm always down to do anything — reading to your kids, picking up trash, talking to your grandma, I'm good for it all," she said.
