Dr Chris is one of the UK's most recognised doctors, having appeared on This Morning for 35 years as its resident medical expert - but what do we know about his life off screen
The 78 year old took up the job as This Morning's resident doctor when the show first aired in 1988, and was a regular weekly contributor up until 2021, when he passed the baton to fellowHowever, since hanging up his TV doctor hat, Dr Chris has seldom ventured back into the limelight - until now. To celebrate his 35 year milestone, Dr Zoe visited him at home to chat about his life's work and take a look at his career highlights. All while honouring his incredible legacy.
Which is probably why bosses kept hold of him for so many years, in which time plenty of different presenters and other contributors have passed through.Then, in 1999, Dr Chris made history - and headlines - once more, after he performed the first ever testicular examination on live morning TV.That was a very interesting progression forwards. "A few years later my wife said 'you've got a mark on your back just the same as your face', and I went back to see the guy and yes, it was another skin cancer, a different type to the other one I had on my face."
