Aledo has grown by 98% in the past 10 years.
Amanda McCoyCommuters sitting in traffic to and from Aledo will soon have relief, thanks to a new Tarrant County road project.
The Bentley Bridge Drive project will connect Interstate 20 to Aledo Road. It’s expected to be completed in early 2024.“It is important to provide north-south connectivity in the southwest portion of Tarrant County,” said Joseph Jackson, the county’s engineer. “We are seeing growth and development in that portion of the county and so that connectivity is something that will be needed as we experience that growth.”by 2031 to keep up with the growth.
The project is expected to cost $12 million. The county selected Fort Worth-based Conatser Construction to complete the project. The project is being funded by the 2021 and 2006 bond programs. When the road is completed, it won’t be connected to I-20 until the Texas Department of Transportation builds ramps connecting the new road to the interstate.
The ramps are part of a separate project already underway and scheduled to be completed in 2025. TxDOT aims to finish the Bentley Bridge connection portion early, to align with the county’s project, said a TxDOT spokesperson.
