Videos appeared on TikTok promoting plans for a "mass shoplifting" event at 3pm.shows two young men being detained on Oxford Street, with police slamming one person to the ground.There was a heavy police presence in the area, including officers on horses, patrolling on Oxford Street.Boots and Sports Direct briefly shut but have since reopened.A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "We continue to have a highly visible presence in the Oxford Street area.

A Section 35 Dispersal Order has been authorised by Inspector McManus commencing 1000 hrs Wednesday 9th August 2023 until 0700 hrs Friday 11th August 2023 covering mapped area of West End. Authority implemented to tackle incidents of anti-social behaviour, crime & disorder.
