Several people have been reported dead after a knife attack at a festival in Solingen, Germany.
People have been killed and injured in a knife attack at a festival in the city of Solingen in western Germany.A knifeman attacked people at random at around 9:45pm on Friday evening, German outlet Bild reports. The number of casualties has yet to be confirmed but local reports claim the attacker is still at large.Armed police are present on the scene.
The local Solinger Tagblatt newspaper reported that authorities told people to leave downtown Solingen and that one of the festival organisers, Philipp Muller, said on a stage that emergency workers were fighting for the lives of nine people. One witness, Lars Breitzke, told local paper The Solinger Tageblatt that he knew something was wrong when he saw a performer with an odd expression on their face."And then a person fell over just a meter away from me," Breitzke said.
