More storms are forecast for Monday afternoon and they are expected to be severe.
The National Weather Service has issued several weather statements this afternoon as a line of thunderstorms has been moving across central Pennsylvania.
A severe thunderstorm warning was up for a while in parts of Franklin and Cumberland counties, and then several special weather statements were issued in the past hour for an area north of Harrisburg and also south toward York and the Maryland line. Those forecasts called for thunderstorms that could potentially be severe with wind gusts up to 55 mph and hail.
Tomorrow’s forecast looks more ominous, with a prediction of severe thunderstorms with damaging winds 60 mph or greater and large hail exceeding 1 inch in diameter across all of central Pa. These could occur Monday afternoon and Monday evening.Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
