Alabama, which had won the SEC West in seven of the past 10 seasons, won't be in contention for a division title this year.
Only one team Saturday afternoon in Oxford will still be playing for a division title, and it will not be Alabama.
Alabama, which had won the SEC West in seven of the past 10 seasons, enters Saturday’s 2:30 p.m. CT game in Oxford with a 4-2 conference record. LSU, which improved to 6-1 with its win, can finish no worse than 6-2 and would win a tiebreaker over Alabama even if the Tide won its two remaining SEC games.
At 4-1 in SEC play, Ole Miss could win its three remaining games and finish 7-1. If LSU loses its remaining game at Texas A&M, the Tigers would finish 6-2, and the Rebels would head to Atlanta as SEC West champions.
