A 15-lot subdivision of 'tiny homes' to be used as short-term rentals could be on the way, if the Baldwin County Commission approves the early plans.
The Baldwin County Planning and Zoning Commission at their December 2022 meeting. The commission voted to recommend approval of a new 'tiny house' subdivision outside of Silverhill, to be used as short-term rentals. A new subdivision of “tiny house” short term rentals—like you would find on VRBO and AirBnB—could be coming to the Silverhill area. The development would be one of the first of its kind in Baldwin County, if it’s approved.
However, instead of selling the individual lots, the owner plans to create “tiny houses” that can be used for short-term rentals. The Baldwin County Planning and Zoning Commission approved the plan earlier this month.
