Joanne and Michelle Wood, who run the attractively decked-out cafe at the Bridgeway Centre, were surprised and thrilled by the results of the poll. Joanne said: "I thought it was a joke, one of my mates messing around here."So what makes a breakfast at Woody's stand out? Joanne said: "It's value for money and good quality ingredients and friendly service. We keep and try it cheap, obviously because of the area we are in.
"There has always been a cafe or cob shop here but there wasn't one for about four years. It had been closed, it was a right mess and we had to gut it," added Joanne. Woody's also sells freshly-filled rolls, jacket potatoes and homemade quiche. Woody's is also known for its outside catering, helping to keep the children at Notts County Foundation's holiday clubs fed and serving up Christmas lunches for pensioners at Carroll Gardens retirement homes at Victoria Embankment.
