Tom Brady is not a fan of how the league is handling the officiating of games.
Brady, after years in the game, is now just like us, watching NFL games from home. That means he can finally speak his mind about what he sees on Sundays, especially the officiating, without worrying about getting into trouble.
On this weeks episode of his podcast on Sirius XM, Let's Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray, Brady expressed his feelings about the leagues officiating, saying it has become"More like flag football"."Football is a physical sport, there's a physical element to all of this," says Brady. He's got more than two decades of NFL experience under his belt, so when he talks, people listen.
Speaking of where football is headed, he mentioned"There's so many people that want it less and less physical, it's more like flag football, which is going to be in the Olympics in 2028,".Brady specifically called out the referees in the Giants and Bills game for a blatant missed holding call on Giants TE Darren Waller in the back of the end-zone, which resulted in a loss for New York."It's definitely a penalty" Brady said.
While Brady's remarks may not singlehandedly alter the course of the sport's evolution, one can only hope it doesn't veer too far into the realm of, as he said, flag football.
