PeakyBlinders creator Steven Knight invites Tom Holland to star in the planned feature film conclusion of the series.
Tom Holland has been invited to star in the Peaky Blinders movie by series creator Steven Knight. Knight's hit BBC series first aired back in 2013 and has since become a massive hit amongst both critics and audiences. Peaky Blinders tells the tale of a gangster family in 1900s England who famously sew razor blades into the peaks of their caps and their boss Tommy Shelby . Peaky Blinders season 6 is set to premiere on February 27 and will sadly be the show's final season.
Recently, Spider-Man: No Way Home star Holland admitted that he once attempted an audition for Peaky Blinders, though he did not get the part. Holland chose not to elaborate on the subject further, leaving fans to speculate what Peaky Blinders role he may have been up for. Even stars of the series itself have joined in the speculation, with Harry Kirton pointing out that the role Holland was up for would depend on how long ago he auditioned.
It is unclear whether Knight has a specific role in mind for Holland or would just like to work with him. After the massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Holland has become even more of a hot commodity amongst creators in the film industry, and it is possible that Knight is simply trying to snag him early. However, Knight has also been quite open about the fact that he has been planning to end Peaky Blinders with a film since the beginning of the series.
However, fans may have a while to wait for any answers. Currently, there is no release date set for the Peaky Blinders feature film, though it has been rumoured that it is set to begin filming in late 2022. If that is the case, fans may at least get to find out if Holland has been cast before the year is out, though they may have to wait a while to find out who he would play.
