Giovanni van Bronckhorst brought the midfielder to Rangers last summer and he made an instant impact on the Light Blues before suffering an injury early on in the campaign.
He has been ruled out of action since but has been working hard on the training ground and behind the scenes to get back to full fitness and make his long-awaited competitive top team return.
When he is ready to go it will almost act like a new signing for boss Michael Beale. He has had a full week of training under his belt in what is a huge boost to the player and staff. He had a little hiccup earlier on in the programme after a challenge in training but he's back and feeling good. It's just a time factor as he looks to return to his old fitness levels after such a long period out on the sidelines.

Lawrence was on target last season in the Champions League as Rangers drew with PSV 2-2 at Ibrox before securing a 1-0 win in the Dutch giants own backyard. The duo go head to head once again in the play-off round with Europe's top table and the riches of competing against the best teams around up for grabs.
Beale and Co first have all focus on the Viaplay Cup with Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton visiting Ibrox today in the last 16. The winner will advance to the quarter-final stage and find out who they face next tomorrow.
