Column: Texans should not have to visit New Mexico for weed
Possessing up to two ounces of marijuana is a misdemeanor punishable by 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine. Any more is a felony. Radio station KTEP recently reported on how visitors to the border town of Anthony canif they walk in the wrong direction.
As pot becomes socially acceptable, employers must question why they are testing for THC in the first place. Workers who use THC, meanwhile, will avoid applying at companies that test for it, making it harder for employers to fill jobs.
