White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain forgot that Republicans gained Senate seats in President Trump's sole midterm in office, in 2018. Outgoing White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain praised progressive Democrats, insisting that their"leadership has been invaluable to the success" of"I am so grateful for these kind words from [Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash.] and @USProgressives," Klainin response to parting remarks from Jayapal, who serves as chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Klain, who has served as head of the Executive Office since Biden took office in January 2021, is slated to depart from his role at the White House following the State of the Union address next month. Biden has named former COVID-19 czar Jeff Zients, a wealthy former health care executive, as Klain's successor in the White House.
