Upgrading your home wireless network to Wi-Fi 6 has many advantages and will ensure you can handle more devices and stream more data at higher speeds.
Around the back of the AX55 are four Gigabit Ethernet ports and a WAN port for connecting to an Internet modem. In addition, there’s a USB 3.0 port for attaching a drive for network storage that anyone on the network can access. Unfortunately, there’s no separate switch for disabling the wireless channels, so that has to be done using the AX55’s built-in web interface or the TP-Link Tether smartphone app.
The TP-Link Archer AX3000 boasts a theoretical speed of 574 Mbps in the 2.4GHz band and 2,402 Mbps in the 5GHz band. By lashing these two frequencies together, there’s a potential speed available of around 3,000 Mbps. However, this is real life and a whole load of conditions come into play, such as wireless spectrum congestion and interference from other devices that use the 2.4GHz spectrum, such as cordless phones, microwave ovens and Bluetooth equipment.
