A Castle Rock pub that closed down during the thick of the pandemic is making a comeback. The Fox and Crown in Newark announced it was closing after 23 years of "blood, sweat and tears" in August 2020, to the dismay of regulars.
It will be the beer merchant's first pub. They are putting their stamp on the pub, adding that it needs a bit of TLC after being closed for more than two years. While they can get it open with minimal support, they have launched a Crowdfunder campaign to raise £3,000 to give it the full Yupp Beer effect.More keg lines, a Slushie machine for beer or cocktails, or maybe both, and arcade machines are planned.
"We have had so many messages of support and goodwill. We are really encouraged. It's a bit of good news in a period of darkness, what with the weather and economic gloom."
