A routine traffic stop on a teenage driver ended with a monumental drug seizure.
Last Friday, Oct. 6., deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office saw Brian Betancourt’s blue Toyota Camry committing a moving traffic violation and said Betancourt consented to a vehicle search.They said Betancourt, 19, confirmed the substance was cocaine, so he was detained, and his car was more thoroughly searched.
This time, deputies found two packages wrapped in both foil and duct tape full of blue pills, which tested positive for narcotics. According to the sheriff’s office, “For officer’s safety and due to the windy weather, the full containers were not opened at the scene.”Betancourt was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance over 400 grams, and possession of a controlled substance.
