A young woman who moved from Romania to Blackburn for a new life tragically took her own life after 'running out of options'.
Officers from Lancashire Constabulary launched an urgent search and scoured CCTV close to the Royal Blackburn Hospital where Maria had last been seen at 4.30am on Saturday, December 10 last year. A dog handler from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service joined the search after mobile phone cell site data showed Maria had walked to the area close to Newfield Drive.
"Gabriel stated that Maria lived with him but had recently been down on her luck and had moved out on December 5. He had tried to contact her by mobile phone but it went straight to voicemail. There is then a series of texts between Maria and Gabriel and a further text message between Maria and her boyfriend Dave.
