is one of the speediest receivers in the 2023 NFL Draft. Tucker is an explosive athlete who ran in the 4.3s at Cincinnati’s Pro Day. Teams looking to inject speed into their lineup could have a day-two grade on Tucker.
That’s the case still to this day actually . I was home last weekend and nothing has changed. I love them to death. Lots of arguing. It’s always so much fun. At the end of the day, I had to be ready when my time came. You can’t get too caught up in the moment. I never had this attitude like, “Why isn’t the ball coming my way?” I put my head down and went to work. I knew my touches were going to come. I was ready when my number got called.
Not only can I take the top off the defense, but what really separates me from the pack is my ability to run every route and operate from all areas of the field. Not only do you have to worry about my speed, but I’m a great route runner in the short-to-intermediate areas as well.JM: It sure is. You’ve primarily operated out of the slot at Cincinnati, as you mentioned.
Tre Tucker: It was a decent performance if I’m being honest. I enjoyed every aspect of the combine. It’s truly a special and unique event. I’ve been dreaming about my participation my entire life. Tre Tucker: I wasn’t aware of what my TV time was right away. I had to go back and regroup. I haven’t run in the 4.4s since high school . I was waiting around for the result. I was hearing from teams that told me they had me in the 4.3s. I was a little surprised by the league’s official time.
JM: You’re a 4.3 guy all day. You met with all 32 teams formally at the Senior Bowl. Do you have any Top 30 visits coming up? Tre Tucker: That’s 100% the case. Like I said earlier, my biggest thing is being as versatile as possible. That’s always been my thing since I started playing football. I’ve basically played every position on the field at some point.
One thing defensive backs are scared to do is get beat deep. They can tell you all day long that they don’t care about getting beat across the middle or anything like that, but they do. It hurts them . They don’t like that at all. You have to understand who you’re going up against. That’s always been my approach. That’s where your football I.Q. comes into play. If you have a 6-foot-2 cornerback with super-long arms, you can’t go out there and play his game.
The smaller corners are typically the athletes. I’m a smaller guy myself, but I’m very athletic. I try to set them up for something. They can either run with you, or they’re very fast themselves. You have to understand what you’re up against. It’s a huge part of the process. I say this wholeheartedly. I’ve never seen him come to a practice and not be ready to go. He’s always 100% ready to go. I’ve never seen him take a snap off. That’s just his overall approach.
