After Phillies fans banded together to give Turner a standing ovation during Philadelphia’s weekend series against the Royals, Turner reciprocated their efforts in two different ways: improved performance on the field and some grateful signs off of it.

Turner, who signed an 11-year, $300 million deal this offseason, has been mired in a season-long malaise, hitting just .238/.291/.378.that could have kept the game tied, ultimately resulting in a Phillies loss.
