In his final episode after a seven-year run Thursday, Trevor Noah bid farewell to Comedy Central's 'The Daily Show' with a 'special shoutout to Black women.' 'I always tell people, if you truly want to learn about America, talk to Black women,' Noah said.
The comedian, 38, took time during Thursday's episode to thank Black women, whom he says have shaped his ideas. It was his last episode in a seven-year run as host of the long-running Comedy Central show.
He said that this is because,"unlike everybody else, Black women can't afford to around and find out." Noah also thanked every member of the studio audience and recalled the early days of his time as "Daily Show" host when the show struggled to fill the audience. "I remember when we first started ... so many people didn't believe in us. It was a crazy bet to make. I still think it was a crazy choice, this random African," said Noah, who hails from South Africa."What a journey it’s been. ... It’s been absolutely amazing. It's something that I never expected."He added:"After the seven years, my time is up, but in the most beautiful way, honestly. I’ve loved hosting this show. ...
