That includes dressing up fewer treats in Halloween-specific packaging; putting a greater focus on big-name brands in family-sized packs; and, in some cases, extending the shopping season.
The packages popular during Halloween — the multi-pack bags with individually wrapped"fun size" candies — have sold well during the pandemic pantry-stocking, said Christopher Gindlesperger, senior vice president of public affairs and communications for the National Confectioners Association, a trade organization that promotes the candy, chocolate, gum and mint industries.
