Alaska State Troopers are looking for a 68-year-old New Stuyahok resident who went missing after he left for a snowmachine trip Wednesday.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska State Troopers report that 68-year-old Andrew Wagan of New Stuyahok is missing after he left Dillingham for a snowmachine trip Wednesday.
Wagan was headed toward New Stuyahok, but was not found in either New Stuyahok or the nearby community of Ekwok on Wednesday night. The community of New Stuyahok is approximately 50 miles from Dillingham and 10 miles from Ekwok. According to a , Wagan was reported as overdue at 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, having last been seen driving a blue Polaris snowmachine.Trooper Communications Director Austin McDaniel wrote that “Volunteer search and rescue team members from Dillingham will be searching on the ground via snowmachine and Troopers plan to use DPS aircraft to search from the air. Local air carriers that regularly fly in the area were also notified, so they can help watch while flying.
