The 49-year-old truck driver allegedly failed to stop for a red traffic light on Route 1 in South Brunswick, police said.
The driver of a tractor-trailer that collided with a car in Middlesex County last week — seriously injuring two teenagers — is facing criminal charges for allegedly running a red light before the crash, authorities said Monday.
The 58-year-old driver of the car and his two passengers, both age 16, were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Hayducka said officers with the department’s traffic safety bureau found witnesses and uncovered video of the crash. “The investigation found that the truck driver made no attempt to brake prior to the collision and would have been over 450 feet away from the intersection when the light changed to red,” Hayducka said.
