Trump's comments were made on Tuesday when he was asked what he thought of Cohen testifying in court. Cohen paid a combined $280,000 to porn star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal on Trump's behalf to quiet affair allegations.
The civil fraud trail is one of many legal battles Trump is facing, as he has also been indicted multiple times this year for various reasons, including allegations related to keeping classified White House documents at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, as well as his involvement with the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. The legal setbacks come as Trump is seeking another presidential run in the 2024 election, setting up a potential rematch between him and President Joe Biden.
