“I think having a fake hearing like that and having it in the middle of this very important summit is a terrible thing,' said President Trump at a press conference in Hanoi
HANOI, Vietnam—President Trump on Thursday said the House Oversight Committee did a “terrible thing” by scheduling a hearing with his former lawyer Michael Cohen to coincide with the timing of his second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
“Having it during this very important summit is sort of incredible,” Mr. Trump told reporters during a press conference in Hanoi after announcing that talks with Mr. Kim failed because of an impasse over sanctions relief. In a dramatic day of testimony, Michael Cohen detailed allegations of criminal behavior by President Trump both before and while he was in office. WSJ's Gerald F. Seib discusses whether that will translate into political or legal problems for Mr. Trump.
