Coal lobbyist Mike Carey, endorsed by former President Donald Trump, won a GOP primary Tuesday for Ohio’s 15th Congressional District
, according to the Associated Press.Mr. Carey will take on Ohio state Rep. Allison Russo who won the Democratic primary in the special election Nov. 2.
The seat opened when former Rep. Steve Stivers left Congress in May to head up the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. Political observers see Mr. Carey as the favorite to carry the district, which Republicans have easily won for years.to then-state GOP state Rep. Jake Ellzey.
