Donald Trump's motion to move the New York criminal case against him to federal court will be heard next month. A federal judge in New York scheduled the hearing for June 27. Trump's lawyers filed to have the case moved from state court on May 4.

A federal judge in New York, Alvin Hellerstein, scheduled the hearing for Trump's bid for June 27. Trump's lawyers filed to have the case moved from state court on May 4, saying that"the case involves important federal questions since the indictment charges President Trump for conduct committed while he was president of the United States.

The case is scheduled to begin early next year, with Trump and Bragg's office being ordered to pick a trial date last week. In Hellerstein's order, the judge made clear that"proceedings may continue in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County," while Trump's motion waits to be heard in court.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER
