President Donald Trump said Saturday he was considering a pardon of former NSA contractor and whistleblower Edward Snowden. "I'm not that aware of the Snowden situation, but I'm going to start looking at it," Trump said, noting that public opinion on Snowden was "split.""there are a lot of people that think that he is not being treated fairly."

But when he was a reality television star, Trump called Snowden a "traitor" and said he should be executed, tweeting about Snowden at least 45 times, as The Post noted.President Donald Trump on Saturday suggested he was considering a pardon of Edward Snowden, the former National Security Agency contractor turned whistleblower who in 2013 downloaded and leaked classified documents about United States surveillance programs.at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey on Saturday.

"It seems to be a split decision," he continued. "There are many people think that he should be somehow treated differently and other people think he did very bad things," he added., Snowden downloaded an estimated 1.5 million files when he was an NSA contractor based in Hawaii before he fled to Hong Kong to share information with journalists. After he provided the leaked documents to them, he fled to Russia, where he has since gained asylum.
