Leader of Turkey's Nationalist Movement Party congratulates Erdogan
His AK Party previously came out on top in the first round of elections in 10 of the 11 provinces hit by devastating earthquakes in February, according to Reuters data. Pollster Mehmet Ali Kulat said the opposition alliance had failed to win over enough voters who were putting their faith in the government to improve their plight.
Erdogan's victory hasn't yet been confirmed, but that hasn't stopped one world leader from wishing him congratulations.
