"With health and safety conditions improving in some countries and potentially deteriorating in others, the Department is returning to our previous system of country-specific levels of travel advice , in order to give travelers detailed and actionable information to make informed travel decisions," the department said"We are closely monitoring health and safety conditions across the globe, working in partnership with the CDC and other agencies," it added.
Some of the most popular travel destinations for U.S. tourists, including Canada, Mexico and the European Union, have imposed strict restrictions. Dozens of countries remain under the State Department's Level 4 travel advisory for issues ranging from the coronavirus to terrorism.
