Miramonte hands Northgate first loss in Diablo Athletic League Foothill Division opener
Miramonte came into Friday night’s game a high-scoring machine. They’d scored at least 35 points in all but one game — where they scored 21 points in a win against Skyline — this year. Add a win against undefeated Northgate to the list of high-scoring games.
UCLA quarterback commit Luke Duncan threw for four touchdown passes in the win. The senior now has 21 total in six games this year. He tore apart a Northgate defense that had given up an average 5.6 points per game — including two shutouts — during their first five wins. Two of those touchdowns came in the first quarter, where Miramonte erased a 14-point deficit in the first half and went on to score 29 unanswered points until the Broncos completed a passing touchdown with six minutes left in the third quarter to make it 29-21.
