Manchester City will be looking to win a second Champions League title with Pep Guardiola's side last crowned European champions in 2023
UEFA has unveiled a new Champions League draw format which will see 36 teams participating in the revised league phase, formerly known as the group stage.
Manchester City will be included in pot one. Each team will then face two opponents from each pot, with one match at home and one away. The new draw, scheduled for August 29, will involve 36 teams being manually drawn using physical balls. For every team drawn manually, automated software will randomly select eight opponents across the four pots.
The draw will commence with Pot one, assigning eight opponents to each of the nine teams, one after another. This process will continue with the remaining pots in descending order until all teams have their eight opponents.
