The 1-seed line is wide open, with five schools in position for the four coveted No. 1 regional seeds: Alabama, Kansas, Houston, Purdue and UCLA. The exact order is anyone’s guess. “Houston could very well” be the No. 1 overall seed, ESPN analyst Jay Bilas said. “Kansas has a difficult road to a Big 12 tournament title. That’s a gauntlet. There’s not an easy game there.”
“Common sense suggests UCLA should be the No. 1 seed in the West, while Purdue takes the No. 2 seed in the South,” Lunardi wroteposted Monday. “At the very top, we broke the Kansas/Alabama tie on the basis of quality wins and strength of conference won . Let the record reflect this might be the last time we hear the words ‘common sense’ all week.”
